Fresh footage has been released showing New Zealand freediver William
Trubridge during his dramatic failed attempt to set a new record for
the deepest unassisted free-dive.
Mars (energetic, active, courageous, venturesome) trine & Saturn (endurance, time, slowness) opposition Admetos (down, deep, below the surface, unconscious).
Trubridge made it to his target
of 102 metres in the Bahamas on Wednesday morning (NZ time), but had to
pull out just 20m from the surface on the return journey.
Speaking after his failed attempt, a disappointed Trubridge admitted he’d blacked out within metres of reaching the surface.
The
Kiwi already boasts the world record for the deepest unassisted
free-dive after reaching 101m at the same spot in the Caribbean back in
2010.
