Queensland registers more than 90,000 lightning strikes

Homes have been damaged and trees and powerlines have been brought down in Logan, south of Brisbane, following severe thunderstorms that tore across south-east Queensland this afternoon.

"We're looking at more than 90-thousand lightning strikes across the network since 3:00pm this afternoon, so it's really dangerous when it comes through and those numbers just keep climbing," he said.
