A day in the life of an
experienced snake handler whose job is to feed some incredibly dangerous
species at the Reptile Gardens in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Moon (food) opposite Typhon (snake worship, scary reptiles (footage captures a day in the life of an experienced snake handler whose job is to feed some extremely dangerous species of reptile)).
The video shows the snakes, the majority of which are Asiatic Monocled Cobras, feeding on dead mice for a lunchtime snack.
But not all the reptiles appear happy
about being woken from their slumber and some lunge at the man as he
opens their individual drawers to give them food.
In the clip the first snake curiously pokes its head out of the box before slowly slithering back inside.
The second drawer is then pulled open - the cobra pops out and instantly strikes at the mouse before turning its attention on the man.
But the snake handler is more than prepared and after pulling his arm away from being attacked he gets its attention with the dead mouse attached to the metal pole he is using to feed the creatures.
The cobra then strikes at the pole and slips out of its drawer and onto the ground, causing the man to have to scoop it up into his hands and pack it away.
All the while the man can be heard whistling as if he is going for a leisurely stroll on the weekend.
Later in the video the snake charmer comes face to face with another aggressive reptile, which lunges at him and misses by a matter of inches.
