Kiwi Trubridge’s record-breaking freedive

New Zwalander William Trubridge yesterday set a world record for freediving at the Vertical Blue event in the Bahamas – the 16th of his already remarkable career.

Sun (strength, ambition) sextile Kronos (standard of excellence) quincunx Mars (physical energy, competitive, goal-oriented) opposite Poseidon (receptivity to The Force). Mercury (agile) conjunct Sedna ((diving bells) that go into the dark of the sea) conjunct Admetos (specialization, endurance, encountering delays, frustrations, complications, having cramps or other indications that reveal a tightening to endure/persevere/hang in there).

The 35-year-old plunged 122 metres into the deepest-known salt water blue hole in the world to eclipse his previous record by a metre.

Hist latest achievement has been documented in video.

Trubridge’s record dive at Dean’s Blue Hole yesterday, while astonishing, is made even more extraordinary when the progression throughout his career is considered.

His world record dive just over nine years ago was a depth of 81 metres – a whopping 41 metres shy of yesterday’s record.
