Like father, like daughter! Pakistani girls defy odds by working as electricians alongside father

Two girls, Javeria and Summaiya, are defying all odds by working as electricians alongside their father in Karachi, as footage filmed on Friday shows.

Sun (the father, fatherhood, children, especially offspring) sextile Sila-Nunam (nurturing). Uranus (unconventional, independence, electricity) sextile Pallas (the relationship between father and daughter).

The two girls can effortlessly repair and make simpler electronic devices including chargers, batteries, LED bulbs, UPS systems, clothing irons and many more.

Their father Jamal, an electrician himself, is immensely proud of his daughters and is the one who trained his daughters to be electricians. He says his daughters work “excellently and effortlessly” along his side.

The two girls are 12 years and 10 years old respectively. While the elder, Javeria, has worked alongside her father for six-seven years and the younger, Summaiya, still a learner, has worked in the same shop for three years.

Despite all odds, hardship and the profession being labelled a 'man's job', Naseeb Jamal, an electrician for 20 years, has taught six of his eight daughters his craft to help them become self-reliant in the future.
