Spain: Animal rights activists demand extended legal protection in Madrid

Scores of animal rights activists protested in Madrid on Saturday, demanding to extend the legal protection of animals. 

Venus (responsible, considerate) trine & Mars (action, assertiveness) quintile Sila-Nunam (high-minded, healthy conscience and ethics, regard for animals (particularly land animals)).

Organised by Animal Equality, activists carried signs showing pictures of animals, stating that the suffering of millions of animals in factories and slaughterhouses has to end.

"Each of the people here is holding a photo of animals mistreated in factory farms and slaughterhouses, photographs that Animal Equality investigators have obtained during all these years investigating these places," explained Javier Moreno, an Animal Equality spokesperson.

"I am here demonstrating I am a vegan, and I think that as a society, we should go in that direction," explained one of the activists.
